2022 CCTS Spring Conference: Von Allmen Center Poster Pitch!
April 2022 (Lexington, Ky) - The 17th Annual CCTS Spring Conference will be held on April 5, 2022 in the Gatton Student Center (in-person). This event is held in conjunction with the College of Dentistry Research Day, College of Nursing Scholarship Showcase, College of Public Health Research Day and the College of Health Sciences Research Day. 2022 Spring Conference Co-Chairs
Erin N. Haynes, DrPH, MS is the Kurt W. Deuschle Professor of Preventive Medicine and Environmental Health and Chair of the Departments of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine and Environmental Health. She is deputy director of the UK Center for Appalachian Research in Environmental Sciences (CARES) and an associate director of the UK Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS). She is a community-engaged environmental health scientist with funding support from the National Institutes of Health/National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences.
William C. Haneberg, PhD, PG, FGSA - Dr. Haneberg is the state geologist of Kentucky, director of the Kentucky Geological Survey, and a research professor in the UK Earth & Environmental Sciences Department. His expertise includes computational geology, digital terrain modeling, GIS applications, and geohazard and risk assessment. In addition to leading the Kentucky Geological Survey and pursuing an active research program, he serves on a variety of boards and committees including the National Geospatial Advisory Committee, the Kentucky Geographic Information Advisory Committee, and the Kentucky Board for Registration of Professional Geologists.
2022 Spring Conference: Von Allmen Poster Pitch Competition
All poster pitches will be LIVE
If you submit to the poster sessions, you will be eligible for the Von Allmen Center for Entrepreneurship "60-second Poster Pitch" competition. Competition is limited to the first 25 applicants to sign up via the abstract submission process. Poster presenters will be given 60 seconds to "Pitch Your Poster."
Criteria
The "poster pitch" will be judged on the following criteria:
- Clarity of Presentation (60%)
- Potential to Create New Therapies (40%)
Prizes
- $750 for 1st place
- $500 for 2nd place
- $250 for 3rd place
- $100 for the VACE Director's Choice Award
Those who sign-up must attend a 1-hour coaching session on how to organize and deliver a 60-second pitch. Only those who sign-up and attend a coaching session will be officially entered into the competition. Coaching sessions will be held on March 29th and March 30th from 11:30am to 12:30pm via ZOOM. You only need to attend one of these sessions. Once you confirm your interest in participating, you will be contacted to choose your preferred day.
